ABSTRACT
Infectious diseases are a major problem in developing countries, data from the World Health Organization (WHO) shows an increase in the use of antibiotics every year. The relatively high intensity of antibiotic use can increase the risk of using antibiotics. This study was conducted to determine the profile of antibiotic use based on the type and quantity calculated in DDD units and to determine the DU90% profile of antibiotic use in outpatients at Mental Hospital Prof. Dr. Soerojo Magelang during 2021. The data analysis used in this study were Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical / Defined Daily Dose (ATC/DDD) and 90% Drug Utilization (DU90%). This research is descriptive, with retrospective data collection through the Hospital Information System (SIRS). The data obtained in the form of the name of the drug, dosage form, dosage strength, quantity of drug use, number of outpatients per month and a list of the top 10 non-mental diseases of outpatients. The results of this study indicate that there are 10 generic names of antibiotics used with an average total value of 101.51 DDD/1000 KPRJ usage. The order of four antibiotics with the highest use was azithromycin 49.63 DDD/1000 KPRJ, amoxicillin 19.81 DDD/1000 KPRJ, cefadroxil 11.24 DDD/1000 KPRJ and clindamycin 9.00 DDD/1000 KPRJ. Antibiotics that fall into the DU90% segment are azithromycin, amoxicillin, cefadroxil, and clindamycin.
